Designed to deliver an excellent experience for exhibitors and attendees, the Polk County Convention Complex opened in 1985 as Iowa’s premier convention center. Architecturally dramatic and adaptable, the Plex was judged the best Iowa building of the decade. Connected on a climate-controlled four-mile skywalk system, the Plex provides direct access to hotels, shopping and parking while keeping attendees "under one roof."

Parking:
Parking is available at the ramp at 5th and Grand avenues. The ramp and street parking is free on the weekend.

Driving Directions to Polk County Convention Complex:

From Interstate 35 from the North: Follow I-235 West into Downtown Des Moines. Take the 3rd Street (Downtown Des Moines) exit go south to the Iowa Events Center Complex. To get to the Polk County Convention Complex, continue into downtown on Third Street and take a right on Grand Ave.

From Interstate 35 from the South: Merge onto I-235 East exit and travel east towards Downtown Des Moines. Take the downtown exit and proceed to the Third Street exit. To get to the Polk County Convention Complex, continue into downtown on Third Street and turn right on Grand Ave.

From Interstate 80 from the East: Headed west on I-80, take the I-235 West exit and continue towards Downtown Des Moines. Take the 3rd Street exit (Downtown Des Moines) and go south to the Iowa Events Center complex. Parking is available on-site, with additional street and ramp parking within walking distance. To get to the Polk County Convention Complex, continue into downtown on Third Street and turn right on Grand Ave.
